Should I take this route to ask out a girl that I'm interested in dating?

If that's what you're comfortable with then go for it. It's good that she likes this kind of stuff and that you have it in common. Maybe throw in a completely goofy one just to ease the seriousness of it all. Seems good to me though. Hope this helps. :)
